Born in 1946 in Povungnituk in Nunavik (Quebec), Lucassie Kenuajauk is a sculptor who has been working since 1963. The source of his inspiration comes from the majestic nature of the Arctic. He particularly enjoys documenting and interpreting the many Inuit myths and legends. His world refers to the fantastic and the supernatural. His soapstone sculptures are produced with great refinement and attention to detail. Always focusing on the small/minute details, Lucassie Kenuajauk brings to life her imagination strongly impregnated by her roots and Native American traditions. His evocative sculptures take us back to the cradle of our humanity.
