Technique: Oil
Lucille Marcotte was born in 1951 in Magog, Quebec.
She holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in psychology from UQAM as well as a second bachelor's degree in education and cultural research from the University of Quebec. Several years later, she enrolled in a bachelor's degree in visual arts at Laval University and gradually abandoned her career in psychology to devote herself entirely to her dream as a painter.
In his works, the body appears as a privileged object where the woman is represented alone in a universe devoid of circumstantial references which elevates the character to the status of emblem. On the pictorial level, strength and fragility coexist and the notion of incompleteness seeks to extend what is visibly shown.
Lucille Marcotte has seven solo exhibitions to her credit, including L'invitation au voyage, which was presented at the Le Violon Bleu art gallery in London and supported by the Quebec Delegation in London. During this event, the artist was rewarded for the remarkable quality of his work. She has also participated in more than ten group exhibitions in Quebec, Montreal, Toronto, Boston, Prague as well as in Belgium. Lucille Marcotte's work was selected for the November 2012 publication of International Contemporary Artist, vol. V and for the April 2013 publication of International Contemporary Masters Vol. VII.
