Melkio was born with a pencil in hand in Genoa in 1984.

"For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a pencil in my hand and a piece of paper to scribble on. It’s the most natural thing for me, an absolute given."

Before fully dedicating himself to his art, he worked as a promoter in the electronic music scene—a world where he combined his passion for creativity with the energy of live performances. This period allowed him to continue drawing as a hobby until the urge to bring his art to the forefront became undeniable.

Melkio is part of the Pop Surrealism movement. His works are recognizable by their bold lines, sharp contours, and a limited color palette dominated by black, white, and primary colors.

Although he is often compared to Keith Haring, his major influences lie elsewhere: Jacovitti, Mordillo, Escher, De Chirico, Munari, and Osvaldo Cavandoli, the creator of the legendary animated series La Linea.

Relentlessly, Melkio continues his artistic exploration with unwavering energy, contagious humor, and the desire to connect with people all over the world.
