Technique: Resin sculpture
Gian Pablo Polito was born in 1971 in Caracas, Venezuela. He lives and works in Florida.
A versatile artist, Polito practices sculpture, painting and graphic design. He worked for a long time as a graphic designer in the advertising industry. This experience today influences his sculptural work in which he draws inspiration from everyday objects which he presents in a playful way. His artistic research draws its inspiration from the Pop Art American. The artist favors resin, a material which gives a smooth and uniform effect to his pieces and which is reminiscent of industrial objects. Its shapes are refined and stylized, often monochrome. The subjects he addresses are linked to childhood, pleasure and amusement. His brightly colored sculptures are often enhanced with a glossy varnish which makes them all the more attractive.
“ I look for the intimate part of the human being, those childhood memories that we never forget. The joys, the toys and the flavors that we cherish for the rest of our lives ,” he says.
Polito has taken part in numerous group exhibitions in Venezuela and the United States. He also participated in the Fair Art Expo in New York and 10th International Biennale of Contemporary Art in Florence.
