Gaubert, James

James Gaubert was born in 1942 in Beauce, France.

He began painting at a very young age and held his first exhibition at the age of 13. From 1960 to 1967, he participated in the creation of the Atelier of the École de Rouen in France. Then, in 1970, he began exhibiting in the United States. Sometimes working with a palette knife, other times with a brush, Gaubert paints scenes of Old Quebec imbued with a warm atmosphere. His paintings, with their subtle tones, captivate through refined textures and balanced compositions.
