Technique: Oil
Born in Tettnang, Germany in 1949, Gerda Marschall now resides in East Hawkesbury, Ontario.
Although she is an entrepreneur and businesswoman who graduated from McGill University, her love of painting led her to take several classes at the Saidye Bronfman Arts Center with artists Seymour Segal, Philip Iverson and particularly Marilyn Rubenstein. It was in 1998, after joining Galerie Beauchamp, that the artist devoted himself exclusively to his career as a painter.
I am interested in color, gesture, emotion and expression when I paint. Oil painting is my favorite medium, but I also regularly use acrylic to begin my paintings which I then complete with oil and oil pastels to add a graphic touch to my works. I even work with my fingers to manipulate the material-color in short, anything that can work!
