Julien Froment, painter Born in Crabtree, Quebec in 1944, Julien Froment worked in the education sector at the secondary and university levels for more than twenty years. His passion for painting led him to enroll in drawing workshops at the École des Beaux-Arts. Then, in 1988, after having exhibited in numerous art galleries both in Quebec and Canada and abroad (New York, France), he abandoned his career in education to devote himself solely to his art, painting. . He only returned to his first passion at the age of 44 and he has been making a living from his painting for 30 years now.

Being a man of family values ​​and traditions, Julien Froment decides to buy back the house of his youth, that of his parents. Located near a stream and surrounded by trees, it was a great inspiration for his painting. Country scenes have always inspired him, such as the colorful landscapes of Charlevoix, Canadian houses with original colors, valleys and waterways. His landscapes are imagined, inspired by his memories and by the great Quebec and Canadian landscape painters he loves. His singular and soft colors appear more luminous against the black backgrounds of his compositions. The Nordic nature of the great outdoors is a recurring theme. Indeed, winter scenes are very frequent in his work, the cold season evokes for him calm and light snowflakes, tranquility.

The quality of Julien Froment's paintings has earned him several mentions, including first prize in the oil category at the “Grand Prix de la Peinture Canadienne” under the theme “new masters of the image”. In addition, the artist was awarded two tricolor medals as guest of honor to the best artists in France and was the subject of numerous articles in art magazines and books in addition to television reports. His paintings are imbued with a naive touch which gives a sensitive side to his interpretation of landscapes. Thousands of people from Quebec, Canada, the United States and Europe have come to meet him at his workshop “Les Blés d’Art” and it is with pleasure that he welcomes them in all simplicity.
