From October 15 to 21, 2026, Galerie Beauchamp Montreal presents Lovers Are Alone in the World, a solo exhibition by Patrice Désilets. Well known for his works highlighting romantic and friendly bonds in abstract universes, the artist develops here a new series where his iconic couples evolve in more realistic settings. Tree-lined fields, seaside scenes, and open spaces become the new stage for these loving couples who have touched audiences for many years.
"I paint love because it's the most difficult color to capture and, paradoxically, the most essential to feel." - Patrice Désilets
The exhibition will bring together around twenty works, combining medium and large formats with smaller pieces. By deliberately moving away from more abstract solid backgrounds, Patrice Désilets explores a rarer facet of his work, more demanding in creation time, but particularly rich in visual and emotional depth. A coherent and masterful evolution of his work, appealing to both loyal collectors and those discovering him for the first time. The opening reception, with the artist in attendance, will take place on Thursday, October 15, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, a special moment to discover this new reading of his work and engage with him.
About the artist
Patrice Désilets has cultivated for over twenty years an immediately recognizable visual language, born from a self-taught practice deeply rooted in intuition and spontaneity. Born in Grand-Mère, he early on explored painting far from classical academic paths to follow the rhythm of his own inspirations. Exhibiting at Galeries Beauchamp for two years, his work has quickly found particular resonance with collectors and art lovers.
